Stockholm i mitt ♥

There’s this Swedish song called “Stockholm i mitt hjärta” which translates into “Stockholm in my heart.” The lyrics beautifully describes the city which I am lucky enough to call my hometown, the city that I am hopelessly in love with. Having spent the last two years living in Las Vegas, a city which is very… plastic (although it has its perks!), coming home to Sweden for the summer is a very nice and welcomed change.

My all black outfit of choice was a big mistake as it was burning hot outside. And the sandals left blisters under my feet - but I didn't let that stop me.

I’ve been home for a month now, and I’m loving it. It’s been great spending time with my very missed friends and family. Last weekend, my family and I went to the west coast of Sweden to spend it with with our relatives. It was absolutely lovely. But more on that later. My sister who lives in Barcelona came to Stockholm a day before we left on our little road trip so we got to spend it together in the city – and we went all out touristy.

Stockholm is absolutely breathtaking in the summer time.

We spent the day waking around Stockholm. From Kungsholmen to City. From Sagerska (the place where our prime ministers live, if they want. Sort of like our version of the White House) to Skeppsholmen. We walked around the Modern (Art) Museum, we watched sail boats, we took pictures everywhere, we discussed which part of Stockholm we would want to live in if we were to (permanently) live here (and had no financial limits – of course).

So. Freaking. Delicious.

We ended our day in the city in Kungsträdgården (the King garden) where we ate fabulous shrimps (how more Swedish can it get?) in the sun and had yummy soft ice-cream with sprinkles for dessert – the definition of Swedish summer.

I have lots more to tell you guys about my month in Sweden but it'll have to wait for later posts so stay tuned.

Ave atque vale!
